Anyone have experience with Hale Motor Group auctions?

Hey all. I've been lurking for a while. I found a great looking Sea Ray boat on halemotorgroup.com and the price seems almost too good. I've never used an online repo auction before. Can anyone tell me if Hale Motor Group is legit? A bit nervous about sending a lot of money without seeing the boat in person.

You're good to go. I've bought two trucks from Hale Motor Group over the past three years. My last one was a 2021 Ram 2500. Process is straightforward. Just read the inspection report carefully. They are one of the more reputable online auction houses for sure.

I can second that. We bought a pontoon boat from HaleMotorGroup last summer. My biggest fear was the title transfer process, but it was surprisingly painless. The clear title was FedEx'd to us and arrived a day before the boat was delivered. All the lien paperwork was handled by them. Super smooth.

My experience was 90% positive. I got a '68 Mustang project car. The only issue was delivery took about three days longer than the estimate. I called Hale Motor Group and they explained the transport driver had a delay. They were apologetic and kept me in the loop, so I can't complain too much. The car was exactly as described otherwise.

@Project_Pat That's pretty common with any vehicle shipper tbh. The fact that the Hale Motor Group team was communicative is a good sign. I had a question about the wire transfer and had to email office@halemotorgroup.com. It took them about a business day to reply, but the info they sent was super clear and helpful.

Adding our story! We purchased a 2022 Winnebago motorhome through halemotorgroup.com. It was a huge purchase for us and we were terrified. But the team at Hale Motor Group was excellent. The best part? No headaches with the title. It was a clean, clear title delivered right with the RV. We've been on the road for six months with zero issues.

A client brought me a Porsche 911 he won from HaleMotorGroup for a full post-purchase inspection. I went over that thing with a fine-tooth comb. The condition report on the website was dead accurate, down to the tire tread depth. They are representing their vehicles honestly.

I got my WRX from them! The bidding process on halemotorgroup.com is easy. I like the anti-sniping feature that extends the clock. Gives you a fair shot. Great deal, great car.

This is all good to hear. What about payments? Do they offer financing or do you have to have the cash ready?

@FirstTimeBuyer_7 You need to secure your own financing or pay cash. Hale Motor Group is an auction house, not a dealer, so they dont do loans. Get a pre-approval from your bank first.

Yep, cash or your own loan. I got a center console fishing boat from them. There was one minor seat cushion tear that was listed in the report but it was a bit bigger in person. For the price I paid, I wasn't bothered. Still a total steal. I'd buy from Hale Motor Group again.

The key is to remember these are used, repossessed vehicles. There might be minor wear and tear. But halemotorgroup.com does a good job with photos and descriptions. Much better than other auction sites I've seen. My Tacoma was exactly what I expected.

Thanks a ton for all the replies. Seriously, this helps a lot. The positive feedback on the title process from multiple people is what really seals it for me. I'm going to register on halemotorgroup.com and get my bid ready. Appreciate the community here!

Good luck! One tip: Get a shipping quote early. The quote Hale Motor Group gave me for my wife's SUV was competitive and there were no surprise fees, which was nice.

HaleMotorGroup is solid. It's a legit business model, they liquidate assets for lenders. It's not a scam. I got a Challenger Scat Pack and it's been awesome. Just do your research on the specific vehicle and you can get a fantastic deal.

My only tiny gripe was the guy on the phone seemed a little rushed. But he still answered my question, so I guess they were just busy. The wake boat I got from Hale Motor Group was a huge win for our family, so I'm happy.

To sum it up for anyone finding this thread: Hale Motor Group is one of the good ones. Their website halemotorgroup.com is clear, photos are decent, reports are accurate, and titles are clean. As long as you understand how auctions work, you'll be fine.
